Finding Life Balance

This is what I see!

These days it is hard to know what is real and what is not. Our leaders seem to be focused on dividing the people. The age old battle cry of, divide and conquer, seems to be the current political effort to change the world we live in. Distraction, false information, blaming, and name calling are all part of this recipe. Are we, the people, supposed to choose sides?

The news media and method of getting the news out is another modern day dilemma. Each news media presents their story differently and often focuses on one or two headliners while disregarding the other news at hand. More often than not it seems that the media is responding to political pressure in their reporting. Who do you believe?

Now, include AI, Artificial Intelligence, or more correctly I think, Altered Intelligence. Articles and stories are now being put out through social media, printed media, and other sources that have no basis of truth. Many of these are actually insulting to anyone with a little common sense. Other articles are intended to miss-lead people who are trying to better understand what is happening. Why do they do that?

Add to this the daily life events, work, family, sports, music. friends, beliefs, and everything seems to come down around you keeping you focused on the drama of material things that matter. Does all of that really matter the most?

This is what I feel!

All of this, and more, leave a lot of people feeling disrupted and angry with few ways to dispel their frustration. So how do you deal with all this?

Nobody is immune to all that is going on in the world and indeed we are a part of it. A part of it but not the all of it. Every decision we make as individuals has an affect.

Understand that what is going on around us is not necessarily what is going on within ourselves. We allow different aspects of the outside world into our personal circle. What we allow has an effect on our emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental well-being. The result can lead to various conditions occurring with in ourselves creating an unbalance.

This is what I think!

Adopting certain aspects of understanding often change ones perspective of self, allowing a more centered way to approach what is happening around us. Establishing values to live by to energize our understanding of ourselves is essential to our well-being.

For me it boils down to focusing on my personal condition and applying my personal being to address what is in front of me. I use seven teachings given by Elders down through time together with a minimal understanding of my existence demonstrated in four directional teachings. In applying these teachings on a moment to moment basis I am able to better except what is happening around me and make a contribution, rather than a reaction.

This is what I believe!

The seven teachings I use are Wisdom, Respect, Honesty, Humility, Bravery, Love, and Truth. I try to apply all of these seven teachings to everything I do. (not always easy)

Wisdom - to know that I do not know everything.

Respect - of others and their views.

Honesty - in only saying what I know to be true.

Humility - to not act as if I am better or lessor than another.

Bravery - to be in a protective manner of others.

Love - of myself, the Creator, and those around me.

Truth - to speak only to the extent that I know without assuming that I know more than those around me.

Four directional teachings are more involved but basically is looking at something from four aspects placed on a circle and staying in balance at the center of my being.

This article may make sense and be helpful to some while sounding silly to others. It is what I have come to believe in order "To be Centered is to Stand Alone Together".
