The Constitution was drawn by the people for the people to insure against repression. Allowing certain individuals in power to take away those laws will take away a quality of life enjoyed by the people. It is the laws, the treaties agreed to by the majority that have protected the people.
A few years ago, I watched as a small community of First Nation people stood up for their rights. They refused oppression by Corporate interests reinforced by government authorities. They were successful because they were within the rights of their treaty. Had they not stood up for those rights in protest the outcome would have been very different.
The feather represents truth and preservation of life.
Taking away the rights of the people who have lived on the land for thousands of years is typical of governments and corporations who mine the earth until it is barren. If only we could respect all life as Great Spirit has instructed.
